A GLASGOW MSP has commended the “incredible” work of Marie Curie at their Glasgow Hospice and called for local people to volunteer with the charity.

Johann Lamont is one of seven regional MSPs for Glasgow.

She met representatives of Marie Curie and praised the work of 39 nurses working across the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Area to care for terminally ill patients.

She said: “The team at Marie Curie do fantastic work and I would like to commend them for the expert care, guidance and valuable support they provide to families in need.

“The work the volunteers carry out day in day out is incredible and deserve our thanks for their contribution.

“I would encourage anyone with an interest in giving back and volunteering to get in touch with Marie Curie.”

Marie Curie made 5,459 visits to patients last year across the region, the charity said.
