Nurses take part in walk for heart unit cash

-

A TEAM of nurses took part in a memory walk to raise money for a heart unit that cared for a 21-year-old patient before her death.

A group of 20 theatre nurses from the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow completed an energy sapping ‘Four Hospitals Walk’ in October, which helped raise more than £2000 for the Golden Jubilee’s Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service (SACCS).

The fundraising walk involved a trek from the new Victoria Hospital on Glasgow’s South side, to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The group then walked to Gartnavel Hospital in Glasgow’s west end, before going onto the Western Infirmary.

Rhona Nicolson, from Glasgow, whose daughter Eilidh, 21, passed away this year at the hospital was among the walkers.
