Bill shock for customer

-

A LEADING energy firm blamed a dim-witted meter reader for running up an electric bill of almost £2000 for a Glasgow driver.

William Ferguson had been battling fuel giant npower for weeks over the whopping bill.

The dad-of-two earlier thought he was getting a better deal for his electricity and gas when he switched to npower from ScottishPower

He was never in when the meter reader came to check his readings but cards were left asking him to phone npower with his own.

William said: “Npower claimed I hadn’t paid a penny for between February 2007 and August 2008.”
