Bus rock attack leaves woman, 65, injured

A PENSIONER has been injured after a yob flung a rock at a bus.

The bus was travelling from Ardrossan to Kilmarnock along Saltcoats Road, Stevenson, around 7.40pm on Thursday.

A rock thrown at the bus at the nearside of the vehicle smashed the window and struck a 65-year-old woman on the head.

A spokespers­on for Ayrshire Police Division said: “Local officers are continuing enquiries into this incident by reviewing all possible CCTV footage and speaking to potential witnesses. The female passenger was assessed by ambulance at the scene - thankfully her injuries were only minor and she did not require any further.
