Climate change campaigners set to gather
A GROUP of climate activists will gather in the centre of Glasgow today to highlight growing concerns over the effects of climate change in the city.
Extinction Rebellion Scotland were established recently in light of “increasingly alarming evidence of the real and present dangers climate change has brought”.
Campaigners will meet at the Donald Dewar Statue on Buchanan Street from 1pm until 4pm this afternoon.
The group recently hand-delivered letters to all the Glasgow City Council members, demanding that the council make a declaration of climate emergency.
This comes after a report was published suggesting that major infrastructure and public services could be hit as a result of global warming and climate change.
