Toast to gin company with some famous names in musical roots

-

GLASGOW gin company McGin has got secret musical roots. The company which has a pop up bar in the city’s grand central hotel for the duration of December was founded by local businesswoman Celeste McGin. Well known Glasgow publican Celeste is related to famous Glasgow folk singer Matt McGinn, above, who used to go drinking with Billy Connolly, and the drink is a nod to his creativity.

Scotland manager Alex McLeish is already a fan of the drink which features a local washerwoman on the bottle.

Celeste said: “Women were never allowed in pubs and had to make their own gin in the bathtubs and that’s where we came up with the idea for the image in the bottle.”
