Leipzig gaffer hits back at Werner jibes
RB LEIPZIG star Timo Werner has reportedly slammed boss Ralf Rangnick after the Germans crashed out of the Europa League at Celtic’s expense.
The experienced coach made NINE changes from Leipzig’s previous league match – a 3-0 defeat against Freiburg – including leaving their German international marksman Werner on the bench.
And the 22-year-old, who has been linked with a big-money switches to Chelsea and Real Madrid, told journalists ‘no wonder [we lost] if you exchange half the team’.
Responding to those comments, Rangnick said: “I’ll ask him [Werner] what was said tomorrow. We have done this through the whole season.
“If we had not been rotating players, we might have progressed. But I am sure that we would not have the 25 points in the Bundesliga.”
