Curt says he’s still main man despite drought

-

MOTHERWELL striker Curtis Main admits he is frustrated by his lack of goals this season, but he feels that he is playing better than he ever has for the club.

The forward hit nine goals in the second half of last season after arriving from Portsmouth in January, but he has hit just two league goals this campaign.

Despite that drought, Main believes he has given a better all-round contribution to the cause.

“In terms of goals scored, I’m not where I would like to be this season but, overall, I think the performances I’ve been putting in suggest that, if anything, I’m playing better than I was when I first came here,” Main said.

“For a variety of reasons, the goals haven’t been coming as frequently as before but, generally, I’m quite happy with what I’ve been doing for the majority of this campaign and I hope that continues – only with added goals.

“I should have had one last weekend against Hearts – I didn’t see anything wrong with it but, unfortunately, the officials did.”
