Commons says Bren needs to bring in Bhoys

FORMER Celtic midfielder Kris Commons insists Thursday’s defeat to RB Salzburg highlighted that manager Brendan Rodgers needs to invest in the squad if the Hoops are to enjoy an extended run in Europe.

The Bhoys reached the last-32 of the Europa League with a second place finish in Group B despite being outclassed in a 2-1 loss to the Austrians.

“They’re clearly making good money and I think they need to invest in more players,” he said. “Rodgers will certainly identify players.

“We saw the standard on Thursday of the players they need to get in to compete at a real level in Europe.”
