Police tackle large-scale city park disturbance
POLICE and emergency services were called to Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow’s West End to deal with a ‘large scale’ disturbance.
Officers were called to the park at around 4.30pm yesterday while hundreds were enjoying the sunny temperatures.
Mounted police and a helicopter were also despatched to tackle the brawl which is said to have involved up to 30 people. Eyewitnesses described how three police cars “raced into the park.”
Police said earlier yesterday that extra patrols were planned for the park for the Easter weekend.
A police spokesman added: “At around 4.30pm, police were called to a disturbance involving a large number of people in Kelvingrove Park. Emergency services are in attendance and inquiries are ongoing.”
