Evening Times - - NEWS -

THE Scotland women’s football team will fly the flag for a world-famous Scottish fabric as well as the nation when they jet off to this Summer’s World Cup.

Glasgow tailor Walker Slater will supply the squad with jackets in world-famous Harris Tweed for the trip to France in June.

All players will be gifted an Iona jacket designed by Harris Tweed Hebrides, combining the dark blue of the Scotland jersey with the sky blue from the Saltire.

The announcement sees Walker Slater continue its role as an official licensee of the Scottish FA.

Chris Rawlings, Scottish FA commercial director, said: “Having companies with such a strong Scottish heritage as Walker Slater and Harris Tweed Hebrides supporting the Scotland Women’s National Team as they get ready for the World Cup is a massive compliment.

“The success of the team has been amazing and to see them depart fully kitted out in the official Scotland National Team Harris Tweed will be a proud moment for them.”

Paul Walker, director of Walker Slater, said: “Walker Slater are delighted to have designed and tailored the jackets for the Scotland Women’s National Team in the official Scotland National Team Harris Tweed for the World Cup.”
