Road closures for city cycling chal­lenge

ROADS in Glas­gow’s city cen­tre are to be closed this week­end as a cycling chal­lenge comes to the city.

The May Around the World chal­lenge will be tak­ing place on Sun­day be­tween 7am and 6pm.

Driv­ing, load­ing and wait­ing re­stric­tions will be in place as well as bus lane sus­pen­sions dur­ing the set time.

The closures are: An­chor Lane, for its whole length; Cochrane Street, for its whole length; Dun­das Lane, for its whole length; Dun­das Street, be­tween West George Street and Dun­das Lane; George Square (all sides), for its whole length; George Street, be­tween Mon­trose Street and George Square; John Street, be­tween In­gram Street and Cochrane Street; Martha Street, for its whole length; Mon­trose Street (North­bound), be­tween In­gram Street and Cochrane Street; Nel­son Man­dela Place, for its whole length; North Fred­er­ick Street, for its whole length; North Hanover Street, for its whole length; South Fred­er­ick Street, for its whole length; West George Street, be­tween West Nile Street and George Square.

Bus lane sus­pen­sions will be in place on North Hanover Street, (North­bound), be­tween George Square and Cathe­dral Street; West George Street, be­tween West Nile Street and West George Street; In­gram Street, be­tween Queen Street and Han­nover Street.
