Parking charges introduced at shopping centre
NEW parking controls are to be introduced at Springburn Shopping Centre.
It is hoped the moves ease congestion, protect facilities for shoppers, and improve security as the surrounding area continues to expand.
These will includes the introduction of charges to control the use of the car park. However, free parking will continue to be in place for up to three hours in the main car park.
The new controls will also apply to the centre’s two smaller car parks, which will continue to be free for the first hour in both, rising to £1 for up to two hours, and £3 to park all day.
In total, the centre’s owners are investing around £30,000 in the facilities on signage and security systems.
Harry Devine, centre manager, said: “We’re keen to be as fair as possible whilst protecting facilities for shoppers.”
