Masked thug hunted after bookies raid
A MASKED thug made off with a three-figure sum of cash after an armed raid on a Lanarkshire bookies.
Staff and customers inside the Betfred bookmakers on Union Street in Larkhall have been left “badly shaken” after the incident.
At around 6pm on Tuesday the man, armed with a knife, threatened staff before leaving the building through the rear fire exit.
The two members of staff and one customer inside the store were uninjured.
The suspect is white, around 5ft8ins, and aged between 30 and 40-years-old.
The slim-built man, who spoke with a local accent, was wearing a black tracksuit top with a blue stripe on each arm with matching tracksuit bottoms. He had his hood up and was wearing a black balaclava, with a yellow motif, across his face.
Police officers have been checking CCTV footage from the area.
