‘Meal blun­der’ hor­ror

A WAR hero choked to death af­ter a meal blun­der while be­ing cared for in hos­pi­tal.

Roddy MacDon­ald, 84, who suf­fered from Parkin­son’s Dis­ease, was fed goulash by staff when he should have been given only soft, mashed up food.

Mr MacDon­ald was be­ing treated at Glas­gow’s Gart­navel Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal for a urine in­fec­tion when he died.

Po­lice were called and an in­ves­ti­ga­tion was car­ried out which found fail­ures at the hos­pi­tal.
