Thou­sands raised for can­cer char­ity

MORE than 450 peo­ple turned out to sup­port Beat­son Can­cer Char­ity at their fifth an­nual ball help­ing to raise £46,654 for peo­ple fac­ing can­cer.

The lead­ing can­cer char­ity wel­comed guests to the Hil­ton Glas­gow for its glam­orous Beat­son Ball promis­ing a night of good food, en­ter­tain­ment and prizes.

BBC Scot­land’s Bryan Bur­nett was the host for the fourth year run­ning, keep­ing ev­ery­one en­ter­tained and mak­ing sure the evening stayed on track.

Martin Caw­ley, Beat­son Can­cer Char­ity chief ex­ec­u­tive, said: “The Beat­son Ball is a real high­light in the char­ity’s cal­en­dar and it was a fan­tas­tic op­por­tu­nity for me to be able to meet so many of our sup­port­ers.

“The amount raised on the night is noth­ing short of in­cred­i­ble and I would like to say thank you to each per­son who made that hap­pen.”
