Char­ity thanks Glas­gow af­ter gen­er­ous gifts

COF­FEE morn­ings run by com­pa­nies and in­di­vid­u­als in Glas­gow have raised £185,000 so far this year for Macmil­lan Can­cer Sup­port.

This year’s cof­fee morn­ing was held on Fri­day, Septem­ber 27, and has seen a huge amount of sup­port from lo­cal peo­ple and com­pa­nies.

All the money raised from the World’s Big­gest Cof­fee Morn­ing will be used to help fund the char­ity’s vi­tal ser­vices rang­ing from nurses to fi­nan­cial ad­vice and emo­tional sup­port for peo­ple liv­ing with can­cer in Glas­gow.

Nine peo­ple ev­ery day in Glas­gow are di­ag­nosed with can­cer, with the an­nual fig­ure at 3440 di­ag­noses.

Macmil­lan se­nior Glas­gow fundrais­ing man­ager Laura Fore­man said: “We are de­lighted to re­ceive such a huge amount of sup­port from the peo­ple of Glas­gow.”
