Charity thanks Glasgow after generous gifts
COFFEE mornings run by companies and individuals in Glasgow have raised £185,000 so far this year for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This year’s coffee morning was held on Friday, September 27, and has seen a huge amount of support from local people and companies.
All the money raised from the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning will be used to help fund the charity’s vital services ranging from nurses to financial advice and emotional support for people living with cancer in Glasgow.
Nine people every day in Glasgow are diagnosed with cancer, with the annual figure at 3440 diagnoses.
Macmillan senior Glasgow fundraising manager Laura Foreman said: “We are delighted to receive such a huge amount of support from the people of Glasgow.”
