THE world’s top track cyclists are in Glasgow this weekend as the city’s Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome hosts the 2019-2020 Tissot UCI Track Cycling World Cup Glasgow.
The global spotlight will once again shine on Glasgow from today, as some of the world’s best track cyclists compete for their nations and battle to register Olympic qualifying points.
The three-day event has already proven popular with both cycling enthusiasts and those looking to join the electric atmosphere for a fun day out at the velodrome – with tickets for the Finals session tonight now sold out and tickets for tomorrow also selling fast. (A limited number of tickets will be available on the door for non-soldout sessions over the course of the weekend).
Jonathan Rigby, Commercial Director at British Cycling, said: “There’s a real sense of excitement around the Glasgow leg.”
