City doc­tor joins our line-up of colum­nists


THE Evening Times wel­comes an­other new colum­nist to the news­pa­per to­day – city doc­tor Pu­nam Kr­is­han.

The 36-year-old, who works as a GP in the East End, will be shar­ing her opinion and giv­ing her med­i­cal ex­per­tise ev­ery Friday.

Dr Kr­is­han might be recog­nis­able to some of our read­ers thanks to her role in the re­cent BBC se­ries Laid Bare.

The se­ries fea­tured two vol­un­teers be­ing put through their paces to find out their cru­cial health “achilles” heel.

In the show, Dr Kr­is­han re­vealed the dam­age that they are do­ing to them­selves – now and in the fu­ture.

The mum-of-one, who has a son Aar­ish, 6, and is a for­mer pupil of Notre Dame High School, has be­come known for tak­ing her pa­tients on “Lidl walks” to share tips on what foods to avoid and how to make health­ier choices.

Dr Kr­isham, who is pop­u­lar on so­cial me­dia, is cur­rently writ­ing a chil­dren’s health book and also hopes to pen a mem­oir about her ex­pe­ri­ences work­ing as a GP.
