Car in house crash had been chased by po­lice

A CAR that crashed into a home and caught fire had been in­volved in a po­lice chase, it has been con­firmed.

Three men, aged 22, 32, and 36, were se­ri­ously in­jured in the crash on the A857 in Lewis, Outer He­brides, on Satur­day morn­ing.

A 61-year-old woman in the house was safely re­moved by po­lice.

The po­lice watch­dog has con­firmed it will now look into the in­ci­dent.

The blue Vaux­hall Zafira hit the home near the junc­tion with the A858, known as Bar­vas Cor­ner, around 1.30am on Satur­day.

A 32-year-old man has been ar­rested in con­nec­tion with road traf­fic of­fences.
