Only fringe players set for January exits at Ibrox
STEVEN Gerrard has reiterated his firm stance that none of his key players will leave Rangers this winter as he looks to trim his Ibrox squad.
The Ibrox manager has been forthright in his answers when questioned about the future of star striker Alfredo Morelos in recent weeks and chairman Dave King insisted on Tuesday he wouldn’t entertain a bid of £40m for the Colombian during the January window.
Morelos is not the only big name that could attract interest over the next couple of months but Rangers are under no pressure to sell as Gerrard’s side bid for the Premiership title and domestic silverware this term. And the only departures from Ibrox will be those that currently find themselves on the fringes of the first-team squad.
Gerrard said: “None of my best players will leave in January. The only people who will be leaving here will be people who need game time for their own career.”
