TEN YEARS PAST

Evening Times - - FAMOUS FACES IN GLASGLOW -

DOMESTIC refuse piling up on the streets of Glasgow was being collected for the first time by private firms instead of city council staff. A staggering 12,000 complaints were received by Glasgow City Council over missed collections. Now, after weeks of public complaints, private companies employed by the council are collecting bulk refuse across the city while those local authority crews previously carrying out this task have been redeployed to collect the backlog.
