Lec­ture puts the­atre at cen­tre stage

HOL­LY­WOOD and Broad­way star Alan Cum­ming cham­pi­oned Scot­tish the­atre at a Glas­gow Univer­sity lec­ture last night.

The ac­tor had been in­vited to de­liver the Cameron Lec­ture by the­atre direc­tor John Tif­fany, whose cred­its in­clude Harry Pot­ters & The Cursed Child and Black Watch.

The event was set up in mem­ory of John’s men­tor and friend Dr Alas­dair Cameron, who died 25 years ago this year.

Cum­mings used his speech to cel­e­brate Scot­land’s the­atre tra­di­tion and its cham­pi­ons.
