City’s festive shopping spree splurge
THOUSANDS of shoppers took to the streets during the last weekend before Christmas.
Glasgow’s Buchanan Street, Argyle Street and
Sauchiehall Street were buzzing with revellers – while the Forge, Braehead and Silverburn Shopping Centres also had notable success.
Stores enjoyed a festive boost amid a last-ditch spending surge just days before Christmas.
Across the UK, nine million shoppers are expected to spend a record £1.2billion in just six hours today.
That works out at around £3.3million every minute as shoppers try to bag items on what has become known as “Stampede Sunday”.
