Elec­tri­cal fault trig­gers alarm at Con­ser­va­toire

FIRE ser­vices sur­rounded the Royal Con­ser­va­toire of Scot­land yes­ter­day af­ter­noon.

Three ap­pli­ances were rushed to Ren­frew Street when alarms of a fire were raised af­ter 1pm.

The en­trance to the Royal Con­ser­va­toire was sealed off but Scot­tish Fire and Res­cue Ser­vices could not con­firm which build­ing was af­fected by the fire.

A spokesman for the Royal Con­ser­va­toire of Scot­land said an elec­tri­cal fault had trig­gered the alarm.

They added: “The build­ing was evac­u­ated as a pre­cau­tion and the emer­gency ser­vices at­tended.

“The build­ing will op­er­ate as nor­mal.”
