Contract tracing at school for third time

-

CORONAVIRUS contact tracing has begun at a Summerston high school for the third time in six weeks.

Parents of the pupils attending John Paul Academy were informed via letter that Test and Protect teams are working again to identify close contacts to those who have tested positive for the virus.

The letter from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde says there is currently no evidence of transmission within the school itself and those who have not been asked to self- isolate can return as normal.

A Glasgow City Council spokeswoman said: “Our schools are working really hard to keep families updated with the correct information as soon as they are aware of a positive case relating to the school.

“This can result in a class having to self- isolate as a precaution, certain school staff or pupils having to self- isolate or no further action required.

“Regardless, the appropriate letter is sent to a family informing them of what’s been agreed in consultation with the public health experts.”
