Ross calls on Hibs to build on showing against Celtic
HIBERNIAN head coach Jack Ross has challenged his players to ensure that their encouraging start to the campaign becomes their “season”, and not just a flash in the pan.
The Easter Road side will attempt to get back to winning ways at home to Hamilton tomorrow after losing 3- 0 at Celtic on Sunday.
Hibs remain third in the Premiership table having amassed 17 points from their opening nine games, including five victories. And Ross, whose side earned a point against Rangers prior to the match at Celtic, is determined to make sure his players have a solid foundation to build on for the rest of the season.
He said: “I wouldn’t say we’re ahead of where I want us to, I was pushing the players to be in that area of the table and it’s where we want to continue to be. The longer you go and the more positive results you get, it’s not just a good start - it becomes your season and that’s what we’re aiming to do.
“At this stage, having Rangers and Celtic back to back is not easy, any team would say that. We took something from the two games, we wanted to take more but it’s still encouraging we took something.
“We’re back at Easter Road on Friday and it’s an opportunity to continue the good start to the season we’ve had.”
