Tech repair shop ready to start up

-

A SOCIAL enterprise focusing on repairs and digital inclusion has opened its first store in Govanhill.

Remade Network opened the shop on Thursday at 421 Victoria Road.

The group will offer affordable repairs for electronics such as mobile phones and laptops, as well as distributing computers to vulnerable groups across Glasgow.

The opening of the shop coincided with the network’s 1000th handout of a device, which was given to fellow Victoria Road business Milk Cafe, to be handed on to refugee groups in the local area.

Lauren Hooper, project lead at Remade Network, said: “Thanks to the support of the local community, the project has outgrown its small space at Govanhill Baths, and we’re delighted to expand to Victoria Road, expanding our staff team from six to 10 in the process.”
