A GROUP of residents in Glasgow’s East End claimed building work on their doorstep was driving them into an early grave.

Pensioners Elizabeth Simpson and Rita Murdoch, from Bridgeton, and their neighbours lived right next to where the council was developing part of the East End Regeneration Route (EERR) and were fighting for their homes to be demolished – saying the residents should have been moved.
