The Evergreen Prayer

I place my hands before You, Upon the altar rail And ask You for Your guidance For having tried and failed. I walk into this lovely place As if it were my own And just expect an answer To problems that have grown. And I expect there’ll be one In a different kind of way, To help me overcome my fears And continue day by day. Why is it when we’re worried We come to church to pray And take so much for granted As we travel life’s long way? So as I kneel in humble prayer Today I feel at peace Because the love You share

with me I know will never cease.
