Evo

Current fun

I imagine that once upon a time a fellow riding a horse looked at the newfangled automobile and reasoned that with no petrol station infrastructure his horse was far superior, as all it needed was readily available hay and water. I imagine he would have thought cars had no personality compared with a living, breathing animal: how could anyone be passionate about a lump of metal?

I love cars, and cars with big V8s

in particular, but I also acknowledge that EVS are likely to be a large part of my driving future. To label them white goods or appliances is smallminded. If Lotus can embrace the EV and produce cars that look like the Evija, maybe we should all be more receptive.

We are in the early part of the EV journey. From a performance car point of view the limits appear almost endless: torque vectoring, motors in wheels, etc. I’m not saying we should love every EV that comes along, but to ignore or deride them completely because they don’t run on petrol is nonsense.
