History repeating

I rediscovered the 2007 ecoty issue the other day and was quite amazed at the similarities between the contenders featured then and those in the most recent ecoty.

Then: Porsche 911 GT3 RS (997.1) Now: Porsche 911 Turbo S Then: Ferrari 430 Scuderia Now: Ferrari F8 Tributo

Then: Lambo Gallardo Superleggera Now: Lambo Huracán Evo RWD Then: Honda Civic Type R (FN2) Now: Honda Civic Type R

Then: Audi R8 V8

Now: Audi R8 V10 RWD

Then: BMW M3 (E92)

Now: BMW M2 CS

I wonder where we’ll be in another 13 years, with new ICE cars being a thing of the past by then?

There were differences too, though: no SUVS in the 2007 test (although there were a few in The Knowledge) and you all looked a lot prettier.
