Ed speaks the truth

- Fouad Azim MD, Seabrook, Texas, USA

I finally got my hands on issue

282 here in Texas, and as usual Ed Speak was the first thing I read. It was as if Mr Gallagher had read my subconscious mind and told me in clear and reassuring words why I had sold my barely used 2019 Lexus LS500 and custom ordered a 2021 992 Turbo in GT Silver with a black/bordeaux Red interior. As he so succinctly puts it in the very last sentence of his column: ‘After all, life is too short to drive boring cars, and now it seems more people are waking up to this.’

As a physician in the state of Texas I am seeing and dealing with the impact of the epidemic on patients and those trying to provide them care. At the end of the day I want to get into my decompression chamber built by people who love driving and finally drive the one sports car I have denied myself so far.

I had been feeling a bit guilty about the indulgence, but no more, and for that alone I thank you.
