Happiness is the road
Like Peter Garforth (Inbox, evo 292), I thank God for Harry Metcalfe, and also Steve Sutcliffe, because thanks to them – glory be! – a Porsche did not win the ‘Perfect 10’ (issue 291). Amazing! Must be a first for evo!
But evo is not about the car, or the outright speed, as we all know. evo is like life: it’s all about the journey.
evo is not about buying the supercar, because few of us will, or having the latest variant from Stuttgart; evo is about the moment, being in the zone of happiness, as your Perfect 10 contributors noted.
It’s about finding those remaining unmolested roads to cherish. Roads such as those out here in Scotland that have not all been straightened for the safety of the less talented road user. Instead they twist and turn, dip and dive.
And they don’t need a ‘perfect’ supercar to be enjoyed, as a car like the GR Yaris [above right] demonstrates – because it is evo. Campbell Cameron
