The full picture

Naturally, most of the letters published in evo focus on cars or the wider aspects of motoring, but there’s one thing I haven’t seen mentioned that I’ve really loved about the magazine of late: the ‘Life Through a Lens’ series.

For someone like me, with a lifelong fascination with photography as well as cars and, particularly, motorsport, this has been a genuine gift. The human aspects of the features, with the travails and successes of such disparate personalities, and the differing career paths, is really engaging. And the clincher, of course, is that for all of us our love of cars and our access to them in the magazines (and social media sites and Youtube too) is founded on the photographs that accompany the words and the people who work so hard, with such skill, to bring them to us. It’s great to see what might otherwise be unsung heroes getting their due recognition.

So, thank you so much and please, keep it going for as long as you can. David Hawkes
