Art and dance blend as British sculptor, Antony Gormley designs the sets for two ballets making their British debut at Sadler’s Wells on 30 November. His work is core to the contemporary performances as his sets turn into props. In Icon, dancers slither across and shape his three and a half tonnes of clay. Whereas in the equally avant garde Neotic, dancers transform his carbon fibre squares into hoops, intricate arches and more. Discover too Scandinavia’s largest contemporary dance company, GöteborgsOperans Danskompani performing in Britain for the first time alongside choreographer, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s Eastman ensemble. Icon is on 30 November 2018 and Noetic is on 1 December 2018 at Sadler’s Wells Theatre, Rosebery Avenue, London, EC1R 4TN, 020 7863 8000, sadlerswells.com
