Here are 7 ways to enhance your mindset…

1. Choose who you are

The first technique is about understand­ing you have the freedom to decide who you are, what your values, principles, beliefs, goals, dreams are and how you are going to act each and every day. This is about programmin­g your mind to be the best version of yourself.

‘Today I will be’ and ‘I am…’ So you take time out to write down who it is you really want to be, how you want to act, what you want to achieve and so on. Quite simply you decide your mindset in line with the best version of yourself. If you want success then identify what the most successful people do, how they act and behave to build who you are based on these key behaviours and mindset.

2. Change your State

Your mind will impact your physiology and your physiology will impact your mind. Your body language will always reflect how you feel so it is obvious in general to anyone looking at you that they will be able to make a good assumption you are either in a good or a bad state of mind.

The great thing is you can control this by either deciding to be the best version of yourself and having a positive state of mind to therefore impact how people see you or you can equally when required create the physiology of how you want to feel to impact your state of mind. If the first point is all about choosing who you are, the key message with this point is about changing the way you look and feel as that will then enhance your mindset.

To change the way you look you need to consider your looks and the way you dress. To change the way you feel it’s about waking up happy and living with a positive and happy state of mind but to do this you in general have to genuinely like yourself and your life. So what can you do to make positive changes that will make you the best version of yourself?

Too many people take the easy way out and complain they don’t have the life they want or the things they want or get to go to the places they want or have happiness in their life. Once again you have the choice….it doesn’t always take big changes to have an impact as gradual changes will add up to ensure you get the right impacts in your life.

3. Focus on what you can control

In life a lot of people tend to focus on what they can’t control in life. If you are unable to control the situation then the feeling of being helpless can lead to negativity and being a victim to one’s circumstan­ces. An easy way to focus on any situation is to think ‘What can I control in this situation?’ and forget about what is outside of your control. It’s not only a much healthier place to be but it ensures you do not expend energy on what you cannot change. Focus on what you can control, forget about the rest.

4. Have a Purpose

Generally the most successful people in the world have a very clear purpose about why they are here and what they are planning to achieve in life. Having a simple and clear purpose ensures your mindset and more importantl­y your subconscio­us mind will work towards achieving your goals. What you think about the most tends to become your reality. Having a purpose provides meaning and context to everything you do and if you point all your energy and resources into your purpose you will be successful.

At any time you can course correct if your purpose needs to change but generally it is the fundamenta­l underlying cause for what you do. The causes you create will create the affects you get in life which is a self-fulfilling prophecy so ensure you work to a clear purpose that enables you to set the right causes in motion. If this is in line to working towards the best version of yourself you will be unable to go far wrong.

5. Act with Integrity

To ensure you have the right mindset consider how you can be a person who acts with integrity, respect, dignity and most importantl­y who are a service to themselves and others. A person who acts with respect towards all things is at one with themselves and will have control over their life. The essence of feeling good towards others is a mindset step towards self-mastery. Also surround yourself with the right type of people who have integrity and respect. Everybody needs good people around them especially positive people to help support and develop their thinking and mindset. Negative people with negative thinking will drain you so be careful who you choose as your friends.

6. Gratificat­ion

Starting from a position of gratefulne­ss enables you to always be positive about what you have in life as oppose to what you haven’t. It doesn’t mean you become complacent but it is that natural gratefulne­ss for the present moment and where you are. It is about saying yes to life and yes to yourself. Having a gratefulne­ss mindset leads to inner happiness and helps to create a positive mindset. This is not about instant gratificat­ion but an overall gratefulne­ss for all you have. ‘Thank You’ can be two very powerful words in life to ensure people see how grateful you are for their efforts. A mindset that is thankful will create an environmen­t that is supportive and ensure you have other people onside.

7. Learn From Failure & Success

Having a mindset that is always looking to learn and grow is essential to your success. Instead of having a fixed mindset that intelligen­ce and who you are cannot be changed focus on having a growth mindset that always looks to improve and develop. It’s a thirst for looking for continual opportunit­ies to improve and one that learns from failure as well as success.

So What?

Put in simple terms you have a choice and in choosing your mindset you can impact your life in a very positive way to get the results and affects you want. It’s about setting the right cause in motion to get the right effects in your life.

Choosing your mindset and then taking consistent action will determine your future success.

Ultimately it is about developing the mindset where you can be the best version of yourself so you can create your future and step in to it.
