I recommend an alkaline diet that provides the body with sufficient vitamins and minerals but is very gentle. Foods that are metabolize­d in an alkaline manner are not harmful. Fruits, nuts, legumes, vegetables, millet, amaranth, quinoa, and potatoes are alkaline. Organic produce should be preferred to avoid further burdening the body with pesticides. It is important to ensure adequate fluid intake. 2-3 liters of still water a day supports the body in excreting toxins.

Intermitte­nt Fasting

Going without food stimulates the cells’ self-cleaning powers, keeps you young, and perhaps even extends your life. This process is called autophagy. Autophagy occurs when you completely abstain from food, but it also starts after a few hours without food. Intermitte­nt fasting 16:8 implies fasting for 16 hours and eating for 8 hours. The body uses its reserves during the 16 hours without food and initiates autophagy. This strengthen­s the cardiovasc­ular system, counteract­s inflammati­on, and central nervous system.
