And the answers are… In the October issue I asked readers about the Cat and Mouse Act of 1913. Well, two readers – Deborah Ryan from Huddersfie­ld and J. Wright from London – both managed to tell me that this act was all about the suffragett­e hunger strikers and preventing them from dying in prison by allowing them to be released if they were extremely weak.
