Family Tree

Stuck? Maybe we can help

- Helen Tovey EDITOR helen.t@family-tree.co.uk

How’s your family history going? Very well I hope – and judging from the number of letters and emails I’ve had from readers that mention this – family history is no longer simply a rather lovely past-time that we all enjoy; it’s now an essential piece of our daily lives to keep us occupied, entertained and feeling chipper.

I know that I’m using my time to get better organised and finally getting round to tackling some of my very longstanding brickwalls (not to mention some very amusing Zooms, sharing old photos online, with my mum, my aunt and their cousin as they regale me with the tales they remember. And yes – I do remember to press record!).

Back to more serious matters, this issue David Annal has a strategy that some of you may wish to employ to help to you solve a family history problem. It’s not a quick and easy fix – but it is a very useful piece of genealogical methodology indeed, and one very well worth mastering. Turn to page 16 to find out more.
