Scottish Indexes Conference, 15 January
The January Scottish Indexes Conference has five confirmed speakers: Audrey Collins, genealogy specialist at the National Archives will present ‘Finding Uncle Geordie’, a case study showing how to trace an ancestor who served in WWI when a service record doesn’t survive.
Chris Paton, genealogist and author of Tracing Your Scottish Family History on the Internet, will present ‘Discover Scottish Civil Registration Records’. Alison Spring, genealogist at The Frugal Family Historian Blog, will present ‘From the Hebrides to Mississippi: The Crofter’s Son’. This case study shows how Alison was able to use a variety of resources to discover a relative who emigrated to the US and made good.
Wiebke Mcghee, archivist at North Lanarkshire Archives will speak about burgh and local authority records, whilst Ashleigh Thompson, Records and Archives Officer at Edinburgh City Archives, will present ‘Exploring the Collections of Edinburgh City Archives’.
