Postscript:

stopping for a coffee whilst writing this, I re-discovered (in the attic) a sealed box containing amongst other things, my graduation robes, baby clothes, and my son’s first real short trousers. (He is now fifty… do you think he’d want them?) I am probably beyond hope. But just imagine, if they had been top hats and a crinoline, a Jacobean quilt or a diary from a bygone era: treasure.
