Name: Magdalena Lives: Tanzania WHEN Magdalena was born, her mother noticed that something was wrong with her eyes.
As well as other health complications, she had cataracts in both of her eyes. Magdalena had surgery to help restore her sight. Afterwards, her mother said: “When she had her bandages removed and I knew she could see me I was happy, very happy. She was excited as well.”
Sightsavers, supported by the UK Government, has launched a final push towards providing a million cataract operations. The Million Miracles UK Aid Match appeal supports projects in Pakistan, Bangladesh and elsewhere.
