I WAS invited to the launch of The Legend Of Kevin, the brand new series by award-winning duo Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre.

The moment I stepped in, I had a sugar rush already. There were biscuits of all kinds. There were golf clubs, flamingo ones, cakes, sweets – every biscuit you could imagine!

The Legend Of Kevin is a brilliant book. It is full of laughter, joy, and I’m sure that you’ll like the cheeky sea monkeys. You might not know who Kevin is, so I’ll give you a little hint about the story, and how he and Max meet.

Kevin is a fat flying pony, and Max is a little boy with an older sister called Daisy (but she prefers the name Elvira) and a mum and dad. When Kevin is blown away from the wild wet hills of the Outermost West, he bumps onto Max’s balcony. Now what will those crazy two do together?

Everyone who was at the launch was lovely and very friendly. The author and illustrator read us a section from The Legend Of Kevin, and then it was on to biscuit decorating.

I got a bit too carried away with the icing, but it was fun anyway! My favourite bit was definitely the biscuits – especially loving them in my tummy after.
