Just Plain Fancy

The story is about two sisters called Ruth and Naomi, who live in an Amish community. The Amish are a group of people in the USA who like to wear plain clothes and live a simple life without modern technology.

One day the girls found a special egg that hatched into a bird. They called it Fancy because it looked different – a little bit fancy compared to their chickens.

However, the bad news was that their Amish family didn’t accept things that were fancy, so they had to hide Fancy and they thought they were going to get into so much trouble.

I think the book was very interesting and very adventurous, because imagine having something that is forbidden in your family. There is a mindblowing ending but you will have to read it for yourself. I give the book four and a half stars, as it was very good and I learned a lot about the Amish community. If you read it I hope you enjoy it.
