HAIR FOR CHARITY
BACK in July, I was watching my cousin’s cup final game, along with her best friend Sam. Sam was diagnosed with terminal cancer back in 2015.
I decided that I wanted to donate my top knot – all ten inches of it. I’ve been growing it for around two and a half years and I am known as the goalie with the top knot. I chose to donate my hair to the Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy.
I then told my mum and dad what I wanted to do. They were overwhelmed and really proud of me. My mum set me up a JustGiving page and within 48 hours I almost doubled my £100 target. I couldn’t believe it and was so grateful to everyone who had sponsored me. My teachers, Mum’s work friends, Dad’s work friends, holiday friends, football team, family and friends all helped me to get above and beyond.
I booked my barber for Saturday 10 November at 1.30pm. On that morning I felt very excited to be doing it.
I’ve raised £562 so far; much more than I thought I would. I’m really pleased that I did it!
