IFFO technical director to retire

THE technical director of IFFO, the marine ingredients organisation, will retire at the end of the year.

Andrew Jackson, who has been with IFFO for nine years and has worked in the fish industry for 40 years, will stay on as the part-time chairman of the IFFO Responsible Supply Certification Programme (IFFO RS) standard, which he helped launch in 2009.

Jackson has been a core part of the IFFO team and his work has been pivotal in driving the marine ingredients industry forward.

It was fitting, said IFFO, that he was given the prestigious Seafood Champion award at the Seaweb Seafood Summit in New Orleans in February, for his contribution to the wider seafood industry.
