SCOTLAND’S largest farmed salmon producer has won a prestigious industry award for innovation.

Marine Harvest Scotland was honoured at the annual dinner hosted by the Scottish Council for Development and Industry.

The Highlands and Islands Enterprise Award for Excellence in Research and Innovation recognised the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering a strong and sustainable industry. It particularly focused on the company’s operations at Lochailort, where salmon farming began in Scotland, which is now home to the recently opened £16m hatchery as well as a feed trial unit.
