Marine Harvest gets go ahead for new hatchery

MARINE Harvest Scotland has been given the go ahead to double the size of its long established farm at Glenmoriston, giving it capacity to produce around 11 million fish a year.

The new £20 million hatchery at Inchmore was approved on May 20 by members of Highland Council’s south planning committee.

The new building will replace the existing, 37-year-old hatchery and have a workforce of up to 25.
