Spain creates industry network

SIX Spanish aquaculture companies have joined forces to create the Aquaculture Marine Experimentation Network (REMA), reported FIS last month.

The group’s main aim is ‘to achieve solutions to scientific and technological challenges of the Spanish marine aquaculture industry’.

One of its projects will be to launch an experimental offshore aquaculture farm, which will be unique in the Mediterranean. In this farm, research will be performed with scientific criteria but it will be operated as a production farm and with a commercial dimension.

REMA will also be a reference for information.
